Service Introduction

Consistent Support Throughout Care

Children, young people and their families may need continued guidance between assessments, appointments and different stages of treatment.

Our mental health nursing service provides a consistent point of clinical support within the multidisciplinary team. Mental health nurses help monitor wellbeing, contribute to care planning and coordinate communication between the people involved in the child's care.

The level and frequency of nursing involvement will depend on the child's individual needs and agreed care plan.

Information is provided in an age-appropriate way and adapted to the needs of each child and family

Medication Support

Supporting Safe and Informed Treatment

Where medication has been prescribed by an appropriately licensed clinician, mental health nurses may support children, young people and families with:

02Monitoring treatment response
03Recognising and reporting possible side effects
04Supporting adherence to the prescribed plan
05Communicating relevant concerns to the psychiatrist
06Coordinating medication reviews where required

Mental health nurses do not independently prescribe medication. Any decision to begin, change or stop medication must be made by the appropriately licensed prescribing clinician.

Care Coordination

Connecting Everyone Involved inthe Child's Care

Mental health nurses help support communication and continuity across the care journey. This may include:

Liaison between families and the multidisciplinary teamCoordination with schools, subject to appropriate consentCommunication with external healthcare providersSupporting follow-up planningContributing to multidisciplinary reviewsHelping families understand the next stage of careHelping prepare for discharge and follow-upSupporting transitions between different levels of care

Our Philosophy

Outpatient service notice

Hiba by Anthalora provides outpatient mental health services and does not provide emergency or crisis intervention.

If a child or young person is in immediate danger, at risk of harm or requires urgent medical or psychiatric attention, contact the appropriate UAE emergency service or attend the nearest emergency department.
